Kareoke Machines

Kareoke, also spelled karaoke, is a Japanese term used to describe a form of entertainment that involves singing popular songs using a microphone, speakers and screen. On the screen are the words to the song, often with a colored ball or other icon that shows you what to sing when. Kareoke is very popular in Japan and the United States. Bars and nightclubs often have kareoke nights and there are even places devoted to kareoke. If you aren't the type to sing in public there are even kareoke machines you can use at home.

Some machines are expensive while others are cheap. It all depends on what you're looking for. You will find machines that come complete with a screen and those that are plugged into your television. The machine plays CDs and CDGs. CDG stands for Compact Disc Graphics which is a CD with video as well. If you put a CDG in a CD player the music will play. In order for the graphics to play you have to have CDG capabilities. Another important part of the setup is the microphone and the speakers. The better they are, the better everything will sound.

There are professional setups made for disc jockeys to use that cost hundreds of dollars. Some of them are easily portable for use at events like weddings and receptions. Other setups like those used at crowded nightclubs are also expensive. Home kareoke sets are usually quite affordable and can sometimes be found for less than $100. The price of the set depends on what is included. A basic kareoke setup can give you a great introduction to the world of kareoke.

A very important part of any kareoke setup is the music. Kareoke music is recorded to sound mimic popular music without the vocals. You can find most every kind of music available in kareoke form. Examples include rock, country, oldies and disco. You can buy kareoke CDs and CDGs most anywhere kareoke machines are sold. You can also find discount kareoke music by shopping online. There are a variety of online sellers who specialize in kareoke music. You may even want to check sites like Amazon and Ebay as you can sometimes find great bargains. Depending on where you shop, you might also find deals on kareoke music in stores.
